Evanescence Inspired Gothic Red Wedding

Gothic red wedding inspiration

I’m giving away my age here but I grew up listening to Evanescence, I loved their music (I still do) and the look of their music videos was always visually inspiring. So when I approached about being part of this shoot there was no way I was missing this opportunity, even if it did mean standing in a freezing cold field all day.

The shoot was based around the Evanescence song Call me when your sober. We worked to create a look inspired by the music video which a bride could use if she chose to have a themed wedding. Very quickly a team of eager suppliers formed and on the day of the shoot we were all buzzing with excitement.

Whilst Fran & Fran both worked on the table and flowers set-up I went to say hello to Raz the real start of the shoot. The beautiful horse. I’ve never actually met a horse, you don’t appreciate how big, strong and beautiful they are truly are. Raz was a super start, she took the bustle of the shoot in her stride. Lorna her owner acted as our model and also provided the wedding stationary. It was lovely to see the bond between them. It also was not long until the dogs and one of the cats decided to get involved in the shoot. I’ve never worked with so many different animals in one shoot, our little cat mascot followed us around for the rest of the day.

Fran of Co Co Vintage Collection took on the concept of the shoot perfectly and styled the wedding table with this in mind. It was full of details and I can image wedding guests marvelling at all the different items and looking through everything on the wedding day. Fran of Frenchie loves Flowers provided the beautiful bouquet which again took on the idea and adapted it perfectly for a wedding. The table was given the finishing touch by napkins provided by Extra Special Touch. We can’t forget the centre piece of the table, the stunning cake provided by the Smith Street Bakers, she even added crows to the cake, we were all blown away by the detailing.

The hand painted shoes were provided by Inanna Bespoke Shoes, she’s a super talented lady who can create anything you can imagine. Lorna’s day started bright and early with a visit to Victory Rolls Bridal Hair & Makeup, who created the stunning look, my photos can’t do her work justice, we were all in awe at the eye make-up in particular. Our brides look was finished off by The Lucky Sixpence, who create bespoke hair jewellery and accessories. Her work for this shoot was clearly inspired by the Call me when your sober video.

As a team we gelled well, it goes to show what happens if you introduce your wedding suppliers to each other they can collaborate to create something stunning for you. We love working together to make our bride’s dreams become a reality.
