As a Milton Keynes Maternity photographer I have the huge privilege of capturing an exciting time is so many people’s lives.
Pregnancy is such an amazing time, a new member of the family is on the way, and your preparing for your little one’s arrival. Watching as your bump grows and baby kicks, wondering who they will be as you get everything ready, there’s so much focus on them.
A maternity photoshoot is a chance to take some time to celebrate you and the incredible thing your body is doing in creating this new life. You are powerful and beautiful and I want to be there to capture this for you.

After Emma and Grant did our wedding photos last year it was so special to go back to see Emma for our maternity and newborn photoshoots. Emma made me feel confident and at ease during my maternity photos and had such a beautiful range of dresses for me to wear. Can’t recommend purple rose photography enough! A maternity photoshoot is about focusing on you and the powerful thing you are doing in growing your baby. I want you to celebrate how powerful and beautiful you are during pregnancy. My aim is for you to leave your photoshoot feeling amazing. We’ll have fun using dresses and fabric, creating photos celebrating you and how stunning you look right now.
The ideal time to have your maternity is around 30-34 weeks. It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous at your photoshoot. There’s no need to be, the shoots are relaxing and fun, I want you to enjoy the experience and celebrate how stunning you look. I provide the dresses and fabric, we’ll work together to create some lovely photos for you to treasure.

Your maternity photographer will always be Emma. As a mother myself I fully understand how you don’t always feel 100% yourself during pregnancy. There are so many changes happening, along with lots of planning for your new arrival.
Your maternity photoshoot gives you the opportunity to take some time to celebrate the incredible thing your doing right now, you are growing a whole new person which is incredible in it’s self. I want to show you how stunning you look right now, trust me you do. I have dresses and fabrics to suit everyone, you can show as little or as much skin as you feel comfortable doing. I will work with you to choose the best looks and poses to make you feel amazing. We’ll create some timeless images for you to treasure of this amazing time in your life.
Maternity Photography is one of my favorite things to photograph as I get to watch your confidence grow through the session, as you relax and realise just how amazing you look.
WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT
When you arrive it’s usual to feel a little nervous. I will put you at ease I promise. We’ll have a chat about the images you want to create, the colours you like, where your planning to display your maternity photos as this may affect your colour choices.
We will then look through any clothing items you have brought with you and through my wardrobe of dresses, crowns, fabrics etc and pull together your looks for the session.
Once we have your outfits selected we will then get you changed into your first look. I will guide you throughout, so you can mirror me, making it relaxed and easy for you. We’ll be chatting away throughout, I really want you to feel relaxed like your just hanging out with a freind.
At the end of the photoshoot I promise you that you will walk out feeling so much more confident. I will then start the work of editing ready for you to return and pick your favourite images.

THE GALLERY
When is the best time to book a maternity shoot?
The best time to have your maternity shoot is when your between 28-34 weeks pregnant.
Do you provide hair and make-up?
Hair and make-up is such a personal thing, I find it’s better to do your own so your 100% happy when you arrive. That way we can also start your session straight away.
Do you provide the dresses and fabric?
Yes, I provide the dresses and fabric, you can make full use of my studio wardrobe.
Can my partner and children be involved in the session?
Yes, I really encourage this. It’s lovely to get them involved so you can look back at your family just before baby arrived.
Do I have to choose an image package when I book?
No you’ll pay a deposit to reserve your appointment. You can pick your image package when you select your images and wall art.
Do I have to show lots of skin?
This is entirely up to you. I have dresses and fabric which you can use. I can drape fabric to create an implied nude look if you would prefer. I always work within your comfort zone.
I’m not feeling as body confident as I did pre-pregnancy
I’ve been there and I completely understand that you may feel very different about yourself right now. My job is to photograph you during your pregnancy and show how stunning you are, show you what I see. None of the women on my website are models, they are all normal everyday women who trusted me to photograph them whislt pregnant.
Your a husband and wife team, who photographs me?
For maternity and newborn Emma is always your photographer.
When will my images be ready?
Your final, fully edited images will be ready 2-4 weeks after you select them.
When will my wall art be ready?
Wall art delivery timescales vary. I will always confirm this at the point of ordering and update you when it arrives.
