Abbey Hill Golf Course is a wedding venue based in Two Mile Ash, Milton Keynes. It is actually only a few minutes’ walk away from my house and a venue I know well. I’ve visited before but never photographed a wedding here so I was fairly excited to see how a day working there went. Now I go to a lot of wedding venues and meet a lot of wedding staff, most are nice and polite a few are unhelpful, I always think the way a venue treats visiting vendors reflects on how they treat the actual wedding couple and guests. The Abbey Hill staff were amazing, super friendly we felt like part of the team from the moment we walked in. Small things they did throughout the day helped us do our job easier and therefore the couple’s day runs smoother. Letting us know what the timeline was and keeping us informed of any late changes. Making sure we could get hot food as soon as the guests were eating. This may seem small but for us this is a huge bonus. Often we have to wait until the guests have finished their meal before we are served, que us eating as quickly as we can as speeches are about to start. Speaking of speeches, making sure we were ready before they started, so no mad dash for us when we hear them start. Discussing the best spots for photos at the venue, again they know all the secret locations as they work there so why not share this with us. Just generally checking we were ok, which is huge. So if they are that nice to us, imagine how well the couple and their wedding guests were looked after? This bride loved them so much she wanted a photo with the staff who looked after her all day.

So onto the venue it’s self. Based in Milton Keynes but close to the A5, it is easy to get to from Northampton. You can have both your ceremony and reception at the venue. The venue it’s self can hold up to 150 wedding guests so there is plenty of room for all of your friends and family to come and celebrate your wedding day with you. You are able to go out on a golf buggy ride to have couples photo’s taken at scenic spots on the golf course, which also gives you a chance for some quiet time away from your guests to chat with your partner. As well as the golf course there is Pirate mini golf which you and your guests could take advantage of to entertain them during any quiet spots in the day. To make the venue even more convenient there is even a hotel within walking distance of the Abbey Hill Golf Course meaning everyone can stay overnight and have breakfast in the morning together. There is a pleasant paved outdoor area for your guests to enjoy and plenty of space inside should the weather not entice them outside. There is also plenty of parking for you and your guests meaning no worries about where to leave the car or how to get to the venue.
